Mike is a lifelong resident of Montgomery, West Virginia. He has work for a major electric utility company for over 37 years being involved in many aspects of the electrical industry, and is a frequent team member developing safety and training programs across the operating system. Mike is one of the founding members of the Morris Creek Watershed Association serving as the chairperson on the Stream Restoration Committee and the Vista supervisor for the organization. He has extensive knowledge of West Virginia and surrounding states, having spent many hours in the Appalachians in his professional duties, as well as being an avid outdoorsman, hunter and off road driving enthusiast.

Mike has been married to his girlfriend Wanda for the past 36 years, they have 3 children, Jamie, John and Christopher and 4 grandchildren. He and his family have a vested interest in the well being and future of our Region.


Tom Ford

Tom graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Zoology in 1992. He went on to graduate school at Indiana University, where he earned a Ph. D in Biology in 2002. Currently, Tom is an assistant professor of biology at Concord University in Athens, WV.

At Concord, he teaches ecology, freshwater ecology, and ornithology. Tom and his students conduct research on the ecology and management of streams in southern WV. Tom lives near Athens with his wife Jen and 4 year old daughter Nora.

Dewey was born in Wyoming County, WV. After leaving in 1961 to follow a railroad career, he moved back to Mullens in his home county in 2001 to help local citizens implement a West Virginia University sponsored community Design Team Plan. Dewey solicited the aid of the AmeriCorps programs to work with volunteers and other agencies to build the Rural Appalachian Improvement League, and his efforts have culminated in several prestigious awards.

Dvon has more than 30 years of project/program management and strategic planning experience (including 20 years in the US Air Force), worked in banking as a Consumer Lending Officer for five years, and was responsible for eight counties and 35 municipalities in the Southwest Tennessee Development District as Economic Development Director for seven years. Her graduate degree is out of University of Memphis, with a focus in Strategic Leadership, and her work in the non-profit arena has resulted in millions of dollars in State and Federal funding.
